CAST Photographer - Malcolm in Wengen 2012
It is a very exciting week for Peak Photography.
Malcolm is honored to be shooting for the Canadian Alpine Ski Team in Wengen.
We hope you enjoy a few images:
Shadow over Silverhorn at Wengen
during the mens Combined Race on Friday 13th January.
Racer on course.
Bode Miller USA came 2nd in the Mens Combined.
The speed and skill of these athletes is incredible.
Malcolm shot at a jump he has been watching on the TV for the last 20 years!
Kostelic comes over the jump.
The view at the base of Wengen, spot the Swiss Air Force!
Malcolm had a few moments to send me these images before he headed over to Media Center (located in the gym of the local school) and I wanted to share his excitment with you:
"Shot the men's combined today. Great race. Wengen is amazing. I feel like I'm in a dream. All the places that I've seen on tv watching the races since I was a kid and now I'm standing here shooting the race. Kitzbuhel will be even more intense. I'm staying with the team and they are great and ready to race. Tomorrow is the Downhill and I'm hoping for a great race from the guys.
It's a nuthouse here with thousands of ski fans partying in the middle of this tiny town in the Alps.I think they are all drunk but very happy. I'm heading to the bib draw in the plaza. (more cowbells) then up the gondola to a mountaintop restaraunt for a media dinner! We won't be out late. We have to get on the tramline to the start on the team train at 7am because after that it's a zoo with huge lineups."
Thanks Malcolm, we can feel the atmosphere from your description and wish we were there! Looking forward to more photos from the Downhill tomorrow. Go Canada!
