Carmichael Cottage on Salt Spring Island
Carmichael Cottage on Salt Spring Island
Welcome to our cottage at 135 Samuel Crescent.
It is a quiet place to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life,
to rest, relax and enjoy the incredible sunrises.
This place is our little 'slice of heaven' and it is ALL ABOUT THE VIEW!
I took a few photos on my i-phone when I visited in mid April ( Spring on the island).
This is the main house, which we have decided to rent by the week
in July & August.
in July & August.
The property on the left has the manager's suite and
the main house is on the right, totally separate and private.
There is parking in the driveway for 2 vehicles and the entrance is to the far right of the building.
The cottage is an open plan living style.
It is heated by a wood burning stove and electric baseboard heaters on thermostats.
Here is the dining and kitchen area.
The ocean views and sunrises are spectacular.
Large dining table and larger kitchen island.
The island is lush with an abundance of trees, plants and flowers.
A real treat for us mountain folk.
The back yard, the magnolia tree is blooming, complete with deer.
The chimenea it overlooking the ocean,
a great way to spend an evening roasting marshmallows and star gazing.
The main bathroom has a sink, toilet and shower, it is small, but it is a cottage!
The main bedroom has a queen sized bed with a skylight (to stargaze) a small deck,
and a small washroom (sink and toilet only)
Main bedroom looking back to the living area.
Tiny en-suite off the main bedroom.
At the rear of the house, there is a room we have put in a set of bunk beds
and a set of drawers, it is small but adequate for the kids.
We call this the "Cozy" room.
You access it through the bunk bed room, it has a couch and a heater
The cottage is only a 5 min walk to the Beddis Beach.
Or a 12 minute drive to the town of Ganges.
There is a lot to discover on the island.
Getting there is easy!
You can fly directly into Victoria, rent a car and take the the Swartz Bay Ferry directly to Fulford.
When you arrive in Fulford the cottage is only a 12 minute drive away.
There are 3 different ferry locations on the island leaving multiple times per day.
The island features many diverse and fascinating artists studios, free local maps are available
at the information center in Ganges. Our cottage is by # 25.
I took the photo below from my window on the plane as we flew over Salt Spring.
Can you see where the cottage is located? I can!
